Poetry Jam

On Tuesday December 13, our grade 5 students read a selection of the poems which they themselves wrote and created over a period of several weeks in their English lessons. Their teachers, parents and peers were thoroughly impressed with the wide range of talent on show, as all students took it in turns to take their place behind the microphone and recite their Magnum Opus.

Many thanks to the teachers involved, as well as all staff under the guidance of Mrs Stewart in the MSMC, for enabling our students to showcase their talents in this way. We would also like to thank all parents who supported their children with their presence on the day.

Great job guys!

We’d especially love to see more students from grade 5 and we promise you won’t regret signing up for the trip. Hope to see you soon…

G5 Poetry Jam…coming soon!!!

The Henbirookwell Publishing Fair

On October 18 dozens of our aspiring young authors proudly presented the fruits of their labour to a highly enthusiastic and appreciative audience in the grade 5 English and Social Studies classrooms at ISM.

The hard sell of your own literary creation can be a daunting prospect in the unforgiving world of cultural commercialism, but all of our students succeeded in convincing even the most sceptical of critics that their considerable talents will always be a worthy investment. A selection of the incredible storyboards and costumes on display that day can be seen below. These pictures of our next generation of historical researchers and writers are best viewed with the sound turned on.

In light of the resounding success of this year’s fair, to avoid disappointment be sure to book your tickets well in advance for the Henbirookwell Extravaganza 2012, as with so much precocious talent on our campus, demand for tickets is certain to be high.
